How should I choose the right fit for my suit?

The fit of your suit is largely a personal comfort choice, but some fits are more common in certain situations. 

Classic fit suits: Classic fit (sometimes called regular fit)offers a more formal and conservative look that is perfect for formal occasions, business events, and all-around wear. It’s also an excellent choice for men who want a little more freedom of movement. Paired with a light blue or white dress shirt and tie, you’ll be perfectly dressed for any occasion. 

Tailored fit suits: Tailored fit gives a slightly “dressier” look with a sleeker cut that is more in line with your body. These suits are more suitable for formal events, weddings, and special occasions. It’s a more contemporary look that pairs well with a bold shirt and high-quality leather dress shoes.

Slim fit suits: Slim fit is at home in business settings and at slightly less formal events. These suits are often more contemporary and fashion-oriented. These suits pair well with slim-fit dress shirts and sleek dress shoes. 

Are suit jackets and suit pants sold as separates or together?

Our 2-piece suits are sold as full sets, including a jacket and matching pants in a fixed size pair. CCO has hundreds of styles of blazers and dress slacks if you’d prefer to mix and match your suit. 

Can I wear a 2-piece suit to a wedding or formal event?

Yes. A 2-peice suit can be appropriate for weddings, business events, or formal occasions. For all-around wear, a peak lapel single-breasted or double-breasted suit jacket can serve formal and more casual needs. A shawl lapel blazer would be more suited to black tie situations. 

What fabric or color 2-peice suit should I get?

Similar to the fit, the suit fabric and color are a personal choice, but there are some general tips for what to wear when.  

Suit fabric: Wool suits (or a wool blend) are the most common, and it’s almost impossible to go wrong owning a wool suit. These suits are at home on any occasion.  A two-piece linen suit is perfect if you’re going to be regularly wearing it in hot climates and more casual situations.  Tweed suits will be a heavier and rougher fabric that can be dressed up or down if it’s a neutral color, especially with a twill or herringbone pattern. Seersucker (puckered cotton) will be your least formal option, but it is excellent for summer parties, more casual weddings, and outdoor events. A corduroy suit will be less formal but can be dressed up surprisingly well with the right fit and shoes. 

Suit color: The classic navy blue suit is arguably your best option if you need an all-around outfit. Navy suits can be dressed up or down with the right shoes, belt, and accessories like cufflinks or a pocket square. A navy pinstripe windowpane or check suit with the right fit and tailoring will never let you down. Light grey is also a versatile color. For semi-formal but more daring, a tan or skyblue suit can bridge the gap nicely. If you’re going to make a true fashion statement, green, amber, purple, and even plaid suits will set you apart.
